Character Re-Design ~ Taro Sega (Segagaga)

Behold! I have re-created Taro Sega from the greatest game you've never heard of, Segagaga!

When I started this re-design, my first step was making him appear older. In the original design, he looks to be about 13-14. I re-designed him to be in his early 20's. Since he is older, I had to update his clothes to match his new age. SEGA, at it's roots, is a boardwalk empire. So, I have him wearing a flashy vest similar to the kind that were worn by game callers in the golden age of boardwalk gaming. Under that, is a standard business dress shirt and tie. This ordering is important as he is a businessman first, and a gamer second. On top of everything, he wears his iconic SGGG-01 jacket!
I tweaked his pants design near the waist to make it more reminiscent of cowboy pants. His shoes are exactly the same. Everything he is wearing is loose, like he threw it on in a hurry. This shows his chill, laid back demeanor. However, the further down you go on his outfit, the more tight and tucked it gets. As laid back as he is, he is no pushover. He knows how to get things done!

Fun fact: All the animation in SGGG was done by Toei Animation. They also did the opening and closing cinematics for Sonic CD.
